Deadlines that settle themselves
A match nobody finishes in time is settled by your rule: a single report stands, the higher seed advances, or both sides are out.
Signup, check-in, a private thread for every match, results both sides confirm, and a live bracket on the web. Your members only ever press buttons.

Running a tournament in a Discord server usually means a spreadsheet, a bracket site in another tab and a lot of pinging people about matches they forgot. Scoreboards does it inside the server: members sign up on the tournament's message, every match gets its own private thread, both sides report the result with a button, and the bracket moves on by itself. You set it up once and step in only when someone disagrees.
In Discord
Nobody types a command. It all happens on buttons, on the tournament's message and in a thread made for each match.

Members sign up, leave and check in with the buttons on it. Once the tournament runs, My match shows their next opponent, the deadline and the thread.
As soon as both sides are known, the bot opens a private thread and adds both of them, whole teams included.
One side reports the result with a button, the other confirms or disputes it. A dispute pings the organisers, who decide.
A confirmed result sends the winner to their next match, which gets its own thread. The bracket on the message and on the website follows.
Formats
From 2 to 64 entrants, playing alone or as teams of 2 to 10. Each round can be best of 1, 3, 5 or 7, with its own setting for the final.
Lose once and you're out. An uneven field gets byes, so any number of entrants works. A third-place match is optional.
World Cup style: everyone plays their group, the top of each table goes through to a knockout, and the best third-placed sides can too.
One loss doesn't knock you out: you drop into a losers bracket. The two bracket winners meet in a grand final, with an optional bracket reset.
For players
If your members can press a button, they can play in your tournament.
Sign up, leave and check in on the tournament's message. Teams sign up with a captain, who invites the teammates.
My match tells each player who they play next, by when, and links straight to the thread.
The bot reminds both sides halfway through the deadline and again with an hour left.
Results can also be reported on the tournament's web page, for anyone who isn't in Discord at the time.
Setup
Start quickly in Discord, or set every rule on the dashboard first.
In Discord
Run it in the channel the tournament belongs in. A short form asks for a name, the format and the size, the tournament is posted in that channel, and the reply has an Open signup now button.
On the dashboard
Under Tournaments on the dashboard. Simple asks only what a tournament needs; Advanced shows every setting:
The bot needs to be able to make private threads in the tournament's channel. The dashboard checks its permissions for you.
With /tournament create in the channel, or with New tournament on the dashboard.
The tournament's message gets its Sign up button, and the entrant count goes up as people join.
At the start time you set, or with Start now in /tournament settings. The bracket is drawn and the first match threads open.
For organisers
The bot does the chasing. You decide the rules, and you can step in at any point.
A match nobody finishes in time is settled by your rule: a single report stands, the higher seed advances, or both sides are out.
When the two sides disagree, the organisers are pinged and added to the thread to pick the result. You can decide any match at any time.
The organisers' control panel: open signup, start now, cancel, or jump to the dashboard.
Let a role run the tournament in Discord and decide its matches, without making its members server admins.
Post a tournament in any channel: its signup while it is open, its bracket once it runs.
Every tournament has its own page with the bracket, results and entrants, updated as matches finish. The Discord message carries a picture of the bracket.
Seed from an ELO or League leaderboard's ratings, and let the tournament's matches count on that leaderboard.
With the economy on, pay currency for every match won, more each round, and for the final places. It is paid outside the daily earning cap.
Give the winners a Discord role of your choice when they're crowned.
Without Discord
Run a tournament in your personal workspace on scoreboards.dev, no server needed.
Share your workspace's join link. Members log in with Discord or Google, then sign up, check in and report their matches on the tournament's page.
Players who never log in can be typed in as guests. They play under that name, but can't sign up or check in themselves, and never get prizes.
Three. /tournament create makes a tournament in the channel, /tournament show posts one in any channel, and /tournament settings is the organisers' control panel. Players only use buttons.
Knockout (with byes for uneven fields and an optional third-place match), groups + knockout (World Cup style, with best thirds if you want them) and double elimination. From 2 to 64 entrants, as players or teams of 2 to 10.
A captain signs the team up with the Sign up button, names it and invites the teammates, who accept with a button.
Each match has a deadline, with reminders halfway and an hour before it. When it passes, the tournament's rule decides: a single report stands, the higher seed advances, or both sides are out.
Then it's a dispute: the organisers are pinged and added to the match thread, and they pick the result. Organisers can also decide or reopen a match from the dashboard or the tournament's page.
In the tournament's channel: View Channel, Send Messages, Embed Links, Attach Files (for the bracket picture) and Read Message History, plus Create Private Threads, Send Messages in Threads and Manage Threads for the match threads. Manage Roles too if you hand out a champion role. The dashboard checks them for you.
Yes. Create it in your personal workspace on the website. Members join with your workspace's link and log in with Discord or Google, and you can add guests by name.
They're a beta, so details may still change while servers use them. Tell us what's missing in the support server.
Add Scoreboards to your server, then create a tournament with /tournament create or on the dashboard.
